The challenge

Reduce the number of internal bleedings after a stomach reduction. 1.4% to 2.4% of stomach reductions lead to internal bleeding at the staple line at the reduction site. This bleeding requires an additional surgery and more aftercare, which could be prevented.

The solution

By adding a layer of transparent film dressing on top of the staple-line in stomach reduction operations, we expect to lower the amount of internal bleedings after a stomach reduction.
