App to show CO2 output of your transportation options

The challenge

Emissions of aviation have grown more and more over the past few years, and are expected to continue to grow. Despite evidence of an increasingly growing public awareness of the impact of air travel on climate change, there remains an alarming disconnection between tourist behaviour and environmental attitudes.

The solution

Since humans have a tendency to only consider information that is offered to them when making decisions, carbon labelling could help the consumer in making more sustainable choices by making them more aware of their impact. Therefore, I want to build an app in which users can plan routes to their destination, and immediately see the environmental impact of the given options.
